Community support goes both ways
It’s been a busy few days – with countless companies vying for both our attention and our dollars. No sooner have we contemplated turkey leftovers when Black Friday messages start to flood our inbox, urging us to get the holiday deals before they’re gone. Then came Cyber Monday, one of the biggest online shopping days of the year.

So in honor of Giving Tuesday, we thought we’d share a bit about why we give here at Stewart Painting. Our mission statement includes not only a promise to provide great workmanship, but to also build trusting relationships in the community. Part of that comes from doing quality work, and part of it comes from making conscious investments in the organizations that help make Cape Cod a better place to live.
“We think it’s important to give back to the community – because the community gives to us.” – Sheldon Stewart
The gift of time and skill
Most of our charitable donations are in the form of painting – because, well, that’s what we do best! And we find it’s a service that so many organizations truly need. For example, we have painted much of the Cotuit Center for the Arts, helping to create an appealing space for their many performances and special events. We also provide a “Painter for a Week” to the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod, a service valued at approximately $3,000.
This method of giving is a big differentiator for us. Our employees understand that they are involved with a company that gives back, and they feel proud to work here. We pay wages to our employees when they do charitable work, just as if they were on the clock for a paying job. They have a generous spirit, though, and many of them volunteer their own time once a year for the Pops by the Sea event.
Giving benefits everyone involved
It is our honor to be able to give back as much as we do. And whether it’s through direct financial support, volunteering, teaching a skill or sponsoring an event, giving back is good all around. Aside from the obvious benefits to the organization, being charity-minded can boost employee morale, help tell the story of our company and create deeper connections within the community.
This Giving Tuesday, we thank you – our community – for supporting us. And we promise to continue to support you in the important work you do.
