Every month on the first Friday, we hold an employee cookout afterwork at our office in Hyannis. It’s a time for all of us to relax a bit, enjoy each other’s company, and a way to let us say thank you to our team.
But each August we up our game and also invite the families to join us. We do steak and lobster, potato salad and watermelon, other snacks and desserts. We have beer, wine, soda, and water. We get to see how much the kids have grown, talk about upcoming weddings,, and who will be joining us with little ones of their own next year.
This year the weather was perfect and the kids could run around outside playing with one another. We had two sets of corn hole for a little good-natured competition!
It’s not always easy to keep that family feel as our company grows, but events like these help. We reflected on how Dennis (D.J.) started with the company as a teenage apprentice when his father was working here, and now he has worked his way up to Project Manager. Others like Crew Leaders Gilson and Rocky have been with the company for 13 and 12 years respectively. We are very proud of this, and we appreciate each and every employee and the talents they bring to our organization from office staff to carpenters, house washers to our painters.
