Stewart Painting is thrilled to announce they have been hired to complete the exterior renovation and painting of the historic Cape Cinema in Dennis, Massachusetts. The job will begin in early August and involves a great deal of worker hours due to the historical nature of the building and the materials used, including hand scraping of the prior painting. Stewart painting will then paint the exterior of the cinema building.
The project is part of an upcoming larger capital campaign project for The Cape Cinema, which is owned by the Cape Cod Center for the Arts, Inc. – a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation. Stewart Painting is donating the hand scraping and painting of the historical cupola on the building which is valued at $2400. The Cape Cod Center for the Arts owns both the Cape Playhouse and the Cape Cinema, and produces the Playhouse professional summer stock season. Eric Hart is the longtime lessee and operator of the Cinema.
Among the deciding factors involved in the Cape Cod Center for the Arts Board of Trustees choosing Stewart Painting from six of their competitors were Stewart Painting’s most competitive price, most professional approach to the project, and their reputation for being community oriented.
“We are very pleased to be working with the Cape Cod Center for the Arts on this project,” said Sheldon Stewart, President of Stewart Painting, “and we are looking forward to getting started. It is an honor to donate the work on the cupola to help the non-profit as they go for their overall goal.”
Half of the project’s cost has been raised so far through community contributions, and donations are needed for the remainder. To donate, please make checks out to Cape Cod Center for the Arts, PO Box 2001, Dennis, MA 02638, or call the CCCA business office at 508-385-3838.
